From the studio · About me
Hi, I'm Tara. This is Tart.
A 4 minute read
I'm an Irish artist with a fine art background, working out of a small studio in London. Tart started with a ceramic frame I made for my own wall, and a few hundred frames, dots and little treasures later, here we are.
Everything is hand-built from stoneware clay, dried slowly, fired twice and glazed by hand, in colours chosen like sweets from a jar. I make every order myself, which is why it takes a few weeks, and why no two pieces are quite the same.
I want your space to bring a little bit of joy, every time you are there.

From clay to your wall
How it works.
Nothing sits on a shelf waiting. Your piece starts as a lump of clay the week you order it.

I build it
Week 1
Rolled, cut and shaped by hand from speckled clay.
Dry and fire
Weeks 2–3
Dried slowly so it does not crack, then bisque fired.
Glaze and fire
Weeks 3–5
Glazed by hand, then fired again for that glossy finish.
Posted to you
Weeks 4–6
Packed with care and sent with tracking. I'll email you when it ships.
Why does it take 4–6 weeks?
Every piece is made after you order. Clay needs time to dry slowly, and each piece goes through two kiln firings.
Will mine look exactly like the photo?
Very close, but every glaze moves a little in the kiln, so yours will be one of a kind.
Where do you post to, and how much is it?
Delivery is tracked. Shipping is worked out at checkout based on the size of your order.
What if it arrives broken?
Send me a photo within 48 hours and I'll remake or refund it.
How do I hang frames and wall dots?
Each piece has a hanging hole or fixing on the back, and a little card with hanging tips comes in the box.
